SUMMARY:Preventing Suicide Through Resiliency & Emotional Balance with Michael Weber
DESCRIPTION:Suicide has become a major National concern for all professions and types of people. For example\, suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people\; second only to auto accidents. Five times more workers in the construction industry die by suicide than work related accidents. Law enforcement and first responders have a high rate of suicide just based on their job experiences and responsibilities\, and we are seeing a rise in farmers dying by suicide. In addition many elderly die by suicide because of loneness\, and we have seen an increase since the pandemic. Therefore\, is there a way we can help\, if so\, how? Please join us to help answer this question\, because we all have the potential to save lives and reduce these statistics. During this 60 minute training session\, we will take a journey into how our relationships\, caring for each other\, acceptance of differences\, and increased emotional balance can help others and ourselves when struggling.\n\nPlease join us for this important discussion!\n\n$10 Non-member fee\n\nFree to ONC Partner\, Affiliate and Community Agency Members\n\nLocation:\n\nON Center Event Space at Ozaukee Nonprofit Center\, 2360 Dakota Drive\, Grafton WI 53024\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker Bio: Dr. Weber is a retired superintendent\, and is now volunteering his time with NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) and the Ozaukee Nonprofit Center.
