SUMMARY:WMQFA Class: Natural Focus with Gina Studelska
DESCRIPTION:Two Workshops\, One day!\n\n\n\nMore and more people are interested in using natural forces and processes\, from dyeing with rust to working with found and scavenged items. It promotes a way of working creatively with what is close at hand\, whether gathered on walks\, collected in a garden or found discarded toolbox. In these two workshops we will first explore rust dyeing onto a scarf and secondly\, we will weave found elements from nature into art. \n\n\n\nWorkshop #1 - I'm a Little Rusty\n\nIn this workshop we will dye silk scarf fabrics with rust objects. The result is beautiful patterns\, textures and impressions with this simple but fascinating technique. \n\n\n\nWorkshop #2 - Nature Weave\n\nWe will be "weaving" natural elements in a personal artwork\, and out "loom" will be permanently attached to a painted canvas for display. By gathering elements of nature that are personal to you\, or that you just found\, this will give your weaving a "sense of place" and make it yours! You may have sticks\, seed pods\, dried flower stalks\, feathers\, shells\, etc. that you have found on hikes\, in your backyard\, at your cabin\, or vacation. Your stash of yarn\, ribbon\, and string may also be elements you wish to add to the work. \n\n\n\nThere will be a one-hour break for lunch between classes (lunch may be ordered for a fee or bring your own)
